英国杜伦大学Russell Taylor教授应邀到访实验室并做学术报告

应北京化工大学化工资源有效利用国家重点实验室王周君教授课题组邀请, 英国杜伦大学化学系Russell Taylor教授于2023年5月30日到访实验室，并为我校师生做了题为“Methane Activation and Ethanol Upgrading Using Metal-Modified Zeolites”的学术报告。

在报告中，Russell Taylor教授介绍了在甲烷氧化制甲醇和生物乙醇脱氢制乙醛反应中分子筛框架内Zn物种的有效引入、精确表征及其催化本质。报告结束后，Russell Taylor教授与在座师生就感兴趣的问题进行了交流探讨。Russell Taylor教授的报告让师生们对甲醇活化和生物乙醇转化中分子筛催化剂的结构调变及其对催化性能的影响有了更深入的理解。

Russell Taylor教授简介：

Russell Taylor obtained his MChem degree from the University of Oxford in 2002. In 2003 he started an PhD project at Imperial College London (sponsored by BP) under the supervision of Dr. George Britovsek. Russell’s PhD focussed on platinum mediated, homogeneous methane oxidation. After spending a year in the group of Professor Vernon Gibson as a Research Associate, Russell joined BP in 2008 working at the R&D centre at the BP Chemicals manufacturing site in Hull, UK. His research at BP initially focussed on homogeneous catalysis before he moved into the Acetyls Research Group (ARG) and began working on a new syngas to acetic acid manufacturing process (SaaBreTM) using zeolite carbonylation technology. In 2015, took up a position as an Assistant Professor at Durham University in the UK where research in the group is focussed on discovering new processes for the manufacture of chemicals and fuels from fossil and biomass derived feedstocks. In 2018, Russell commenced a prestigous EPSRC Manufacturing Fellowship to develop new manufacturing processes for more sustainable commodity chemicals.
