国际知名期刊《Chemical Science》《Chemical Communications》《Chemical Society Reviews & Faraday Discussions》总编辑Dr Robert D. Eagling来实验室作报告

2014年7月31日，应北京化工大学化工资源有效利用国家重点实验室吕超教授邀请，《Chemical Science》 《Chemical Communications》 《Chemical Society Reviews & Faraday Discussions》总编辑Dr Robert D. Eagling来实验室作报告。
    Dr Robert首先在吕超教授的陪同下参观了化工资源有效利用国家重点实验室以及北京化工大学分析测试中心。上午10点Dr Robert D. Eagling在无机楼107以“Chemical Science, leads the way!”为题举办了专题学术讲座。Dr Robert首先对英国皇家化学学会（RSC）出版物进行了详细的介绍，突出表现了RSC期刊的优势，重点介绍了一些高影响因子的以及近年来新创办的RSC期刊。随后，Dr Robert对科研工作者的文章投稿给出了非常有意义的讲解与建议，与北京化工大学校长谭天伟院士，理学院党委书记白守礼教授，院长李殿卿教授以及李峰教授、吕超教授等就具体文章投稿方面进行了有益的探讨。讲座结束后，Dr Robert对在场的老师及学生的问题都给予了很好的解答，亲切随和的性格给我们留下了很深的印象。

 

Biography: Robert studied chemistry with medicinal chemistry at Newcastle University in 1993. After completing his first degree in 1996 he started his Ph.D at Newcastle University under the supervision of Dr Andrew Houlton and Dr Ben Horrocks. He started work at the Royal Society of Chemistry in 2001 and was promoted in 2002 to deputy editor of Organic & Biomolecular Chemistry where he helped to successfully launch the journal in January 2003. In June 2003 he moved to the books team as a commissioning editor. In January 2005, he became Editor of Chem Soc Rev, Annual Reports and Specialist Periodical Reports. Most recently he has been promoted to Editor of the RSC"s Flagship journal collection, Chemical Communications and Chem Soc Rev. He is also responsible for the new RSC flagship journal Chemical Science which complements both ChemComm and Chem Soc Rev with regards to articlestyle, subject coverage and quality. All three are ranked in the top 15 journals with respect to impact factor in the Thomson multidisciplinary chemistry category. He is also responsible for Faraday Transactions, the ISACS conference series and driving OA within the RSC. Outside of work Robert is a family man who enjoys spending time with his family and twisting balloons (not chemistry related)!
