 1. New chemistries that can directly convert C−H bonds on organic material surfaces into functional groups or polymer chains in facile, efficient, specific, and selective ways were introduced by this review.
2. We formally proposed the concept of “phototransformation of C−H bonds on an organic surface or interface”, which is defined as a set of specific photochemical reactions of C−H bonds to directly convert C−H bonds to desirable surface functional moieties (e.g., functional small molecules, biomolecules, and polymers).
